And while you should never experiment with recipes when you are throwing a dinner party, cooking for oneself is often an exploration into the unknown. Last week, I made a veal dish that had too much acid in the pan sauce (too much lemon with the tomatoes) and it was pretty awful. This week, I made two dishes that were NOT do-overs. One was an Asian chicken and celery debacle, and the other was a lovely piece of sea bass that I ruined with too much coarse pink salt.
LIVE AND LEARN
Cooking is all about learning from your mistakes. But, if you don’t try new things, you’ll never learn anything. Get out of your kitchen comfort zone and GO FOR IT. And, if you do, every once and a while, you’ll create something MAGNIFICENT.
